Beauty Comes from Inside.

Bochum's Century Hall shines on the outside with its extraordinary architectural design and the natural grace of age. But, it only reveals its entire beauty when we cast a glance inside. Three halls of differing dimensions provide the setting for artistic and festive occasions whose potential can hardly be exhausted. Everything follows the rhythm of the room and swings to the energetic beat of the gas power station that was once at home here. Free-running cranes, solid steel supports and fragile roof constructions provide a backdrop just as stunning for small events as large-scale performances. There are many things you need the right light for, which is why the Century Hall has large-surface glazing in the roof and the walls of the gable. Natural light creates extravagant performances at all times of the day, provides the space for mystic plays of light and shadow and always allows a new perspective of the unique world to be discovered at Bochum's Century Hall.

Hall 1: Space Times Space.

The stunning hall 1 extends more than 130 meters long and had a flexible base area in excess of 3,360 square meters for playing theatre on. All of the audience and theatre areas can be arranged in any fashion with the full range of seating scenarios. It's visually broken down into a quiet foyer and a generous main zone that is a natural for such things as banquet events. State-of-the-art event equipment makes sure that the hall acoustics and stage lighting satisfy even the highest standards.

Hall 3: As if in Different World of Sound.

The rough industrial backdrop in hall 3 is combined with the fine feeling for a select concert hall where acoustics was also a major priority. Stage reflectors, absorption areas and acoustic sails above the stage and audience space streamline the tonal effect. This hall has stands with as many as 1,500 seats in rows, a mobile stage and movable overhead equipment. On 2,700 square meters, you can be sure that this equipment satisfies everybody's needs.

Hall 4: A Place Full of Touch.

Hall 4 has stands for the audience with as many as 800 seats in rows, a fixed base stage, additional mobile stage elements and fixed overhead equipment. Hall 4 is the smallest gem of the Cultural Cathedral with a base area of 1,750 square meters, meaning it's virtually impossible to get any closer to the audience with your event than here. Distances seem to disappear and you can almost touch the goings-on.

The Foyer: Much More than Just an Entrance.

The foyer of Bochum's Century Hall opens its gates to its visitor over the entire length in the new building bordering hall 1. Heritage and modernism blend in perfect harmony and act both as unity of and contrast to one another. The arrangement of the two bars and the information and cash register counters lend this room a flawless form of symmetry while guiding the eye of the beholder along distinct lines. Two flights of outside steps and lifts provide access to a lofty gallery level on the upper floor. Surrounded by a sphere of quietude, the guest is literally above all of the busy goings-on to be found on the ground floor. This impression is buttressed by the use of coloured lights projected onto the wall and ceiling surfaces by a row of windows on the floor that immerses the room into a whole rainbow of colour moods.

The Artist Wardrobes: Everything Easily Accessible behind the Curtains.

A multi-floor annex is home to the service and amenity rooms for actors with a large array of artist wardrobes and project offices that all halls can be reached from.
